It’s a source of constant frustration that I can’t do the whole Gatsby thing (too much curve, not enough waif), because who doesn’t love a fringy swoosh? But while I might never be able to go the full Daisy Buchanan, this black satin wrap skirt is edged with just the right amount of flirty fringing to nod to the jazz age without actually adding bulk or, from a purely practical pov, requiring a nightly comb. It would be divine with a lightweight, oversized knit half tucked in for a more casual look, but I’ve taken it more corporate with this airy star-print blouse (also a weekend winner with denim shorts). Mules round off the roaring ‘20s effect - my colour-way is spring/summer 2018, but the same style in black and gold is arguably even more perfect.
Sizing: The skirt is generous, mine’s a 38. The blouse is blousy - ha. Because I don’t do well in oversized anything I sized down to 36. Shoes come up small, I size up to 39.5 (from a standard 39).
Happy swooshing!
